Obituary for Janis Brown

Janis  Brown
Janis Orleans Brown, 72, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on May 1, 2017. Born in Gainesville, TX, she was raised in Silver Spring, MD, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland. She practiced both clinical and administrative nursing positions during her professional career. Janis moved to Arizona in 1975, where her life focused on her daughters, granddaughters, and many close friendships. She was an enthusiastic athlete, including tennis, running and hiking. She particularly enjoyed being outdoors and the Arizona lifestyle, relishing each day as if she was on vacation. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 50 years, Terry; daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Vandroff and Lauren (Larry) Dee; granddaughters, Lily and Lainie Dee and Vivian Vandroff; and brother, Ronald Orleans. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Cemetery 24210 N. 68th St. Phoenix, AZ 85054. Contributions in her memory may be made to The Jewish Genetic Diseases Center of Greater Phoenix at, The Jewish Free Loan at, or the Face In The Mirror Foundation at Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.
