Obituary for William Jack Davidson

William Jack Davidson
William Jack Davidson passed away May 23, 2017 at the young age of fifty-one. He was a well loved son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, friend and pet parent. His entrepreneurial spirit showed itself at an early age- beginning with his paper route, reselling snacks and later (don’t tell anyone) fireworks to kids at school. He invested his Bar Mitzvah money to start Southwest Video Venders- placing pinball and video games in local pizza parlors, ice cream shops and convenience stores. Billy had a creative and unique sense of humor which first showed itself first as a child when he pulled siblings and friends into all kinds of crazy and fun adventures and pranks. His love of comedy continued with old time classics like Groucho Marx, Jack Benny, Lucille Ball and the Honeymooners. Boy Scouts and many medals, hikes and campouts were part of his childhood mix, as well. Bill attended Brophy College Preparatory and later Arizona State University where he graduated with a degree in Political Science. He was an accomplished pianist who entertained many friends and relatives with his beautiful music- especially his aunts who loved to sing along- especially with the show tunes. He was a huge sports fan – any sport- and especially followed the local teams- including his alma mater. This interest included horse racing and he had the opportunity to work at the Kentucky Derby. His great love of cooking was kindled in his 7th grade Home Economics class and he later loved preparing gourmet dinners for family and friends. William had a great love for animals and had many beloved pets over the years, including his last two Stuart and Mackie. After schooling, he became a stockbroker for Chubb Securities and continued on with his financial and entrepreneurial activities. He was predeceased by his parents- Sheldon and Beverly Davidson. He leaves behind: sisters Laura, Sally and Jennifer, his ‘boys’ Stuart and Mackie and many relatives and friends. Suggestions for any donations in his memory would be the Humane Society or any alcohol or substance abuse recovery organization. Graveside services are 11 am on Friday, May 26th at Beth Israel Cemetery, 305 S. 35th Ave in Phoenix. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.
