Condolence From: Mark W. Cox
Condolence: What a legacy of healing! I sponsored a family of “boat people” in the very early 1980’s Chinese merchants that were facing sure death by the communists who overran Vietnam in spite of the treaty. In the dark of night they set out with total silence. All 13 washed ashore on an island in Thailand. The boat sank as they scrambled for the beach. Aid agencies helped and I took all of them in with help from my church. I has no money but I knew Betty Buxer through the Maricopa County Woman’s Auxiliary. I put the word out that a married daughter was due, and very malnourished. Needed to see a doctor! Dr. Buxer swung into action, never mentioning money he examined her ended up delivering a little American boy. He said the mom was severely protein deprived and the delivery was harrowing. He took fine care of this family! That baby has twin daughters and another daughter. The story has been told in the family , Which numbers 56 now and includes two physicians, three registered nurses, a social worker (msw) an attorney and many grandchildren. Dr Buxer was our hero! Will ALWAYS be a legend in this big family.

Condolence From: Kathleen Doucette
Condolence: I have worked for Joe and Betsy for a very long time, Joe was a good man with a quirky sense of humor that I enjoyed, his favorite saying to me was "and it's your fault". My condolences go out to Betsy and the family.
